I am looking to purchase a Camco Oaklawn Era Walnut kit...Not sure where to look. I know these kits are scarce, but I thought I would check on here. Thanks.
Camco Oaklawn Era Walnut Kit?
I don't have the room for another kit, but I have a Walnut-stained Aristocrat snare. It's stunning, and sound fantastic.
Good luck.
Stephen
Best choice of drums and a great color.
This is the best place to start your search,... good luck !!!
Camco lacquer/ stain finishes from the Oaklawn era are not that common. They are out there but it may take you awhile to find one. 20/12/14 and 20/12/12/14 are the most common from Oaklawn. The later Oaklawns saw more 22/12/13/16 kit pop up. There are 18" bass drums but they are more rare. 24s and 26s are almost nonexistent.

There was an Oaklawn era Walnut Stain set for sale again (2nd time listed) in Nashville,TN. on craigslist, just 2 days ago. The asking price is reasonable considering the condition is excellent and it has the matching snare drum. 22,12,13,16 with the 5x14 Aristocrat SD. The only issue I saw was one of the bass drum hoops was slightly lighter in color than the bass drum but that could have been the lighting... In case anyone is looking for certain drums...List alert works really well for nationwide Camco searches. I usually get an email on my phone within 10 minutes of anything Camco being listed on Craigslist nationwide. It took awhile for my sons to set it up for every major city in the US, but once completed you'd be amazed at what some are selling...The 6pc. Natural Maple C-650 L.A. era set that was recently bought then pieced out.. 3pc.s here, 2 piece there, was listed in a teeny town in Texas for $500.00, 6pc. He Would Not Pack and Ship.....Value? At least $2500.00 plus.... Sold for $700.00....Complete with the 6.5x14".... The 10x14 and 16x18" were parted out and are now for sale on ebay but was 100% original including the fatty washers and all the tension rods, hoops and ITCs. Note: Only the 10x14" shell with badge is left.

Oh so you're animal_chin. I've bought a few things from you over the years.

Haha, No I am not Animal_chin88 from Hampton, New Hampshire. He is another drum stripper just Like p00der or LeeCountymusic. I am here in Ca. and don't strip and sell vintage drums. Nor do I buy from those people. I bought the snare drum from the original owner of C&C drums who bought the C-650 set and not through ebay.
Sorry for the mistake. If I need the part, I will buy from them but it's usually something unique. I'm fairly certain I picked up one of my George Way era Camco hoop mounted cymbal L-arms from him/her.

No problem, my wording was confusing anyway. Also I know exactly how you feel about them having something you really need. Especially if it's a really hard part to come by and it's the one thing you need to complete a project or a kit... What do you do? wait another year? Oh Man...
Since your 1st post looking for a walnut stain Oaklawn era kit there has been one on ebay sell, one from Steve Maxwells drum shop sold, the one Dollfan put you on to, and the one still for sale in Nashville on craigslist. None of those kits were good enough?Hmmmm
