Burgundy Ludwigs

About a month ago I brought home a set of 1968 Burgundy Sparkle Ludwigs (13/16/22). I finally got a chance to use them at a gig last night and they both looked and sounded great. Hard to go wrong with Ludwigs from this era.

They will definitely stay in the rotation but, alas, I have far too few gigs and far too many drum sets.

Apparently this is what retirement looks like for old drummers! LOL

I'm the same, no gigs and way too many drums. Truth is, I haven't even looked for a gig situation. I'm having fun playing and I don't 'have to be' anywhere and play on demand. Load-in and load-out are just too much of a hassle these days. I'm digging just playing for my own pleasure and having some of the best drums in the world to wail away on whenever I please. It -is- my dream come true. It's not a bad situation, just depends on point of view.

Here's to old drummers! :D
