Those lugs look suspiciously like my Star teardrop copies, or maybe they are Sonor lugs. And the plaque, not bent to the shape of the shell, so where would it have been mounted...? I don't believe this for one minute. I'll bet TommyP would be able to fill this one full of holes.
Missing something on the left side, like a badge and grommet? And the muffler knob, that looks like a Slingerland knob to my eyes, and I'm no expert, but none of this looks right. The butt plate is non-original and upside down too. Man, this guy is a piece of work. If this were ever a Buddy owned drum, it would not have been a plated drum, it would have been a full on brass shell, and he played a fiberglass Fibes snare mostly, right? Stinky to high heaven!!!!
Wait a minute...I've seen that plaque part before somewhere. I think we ferreted it out here in '09...maybe they made a back up part in case the first one got lost by the original parts scavenger builder buzzard guy.
Oh, and the mole skins add a really nice touch to the finished product...

Butt plate area has extra holes. And where are the holes for the name plate?
Looks to me to be a 20s Lud & Lud 2 piece heavy brass shell despite everything else....
Everything about that drum screams Fibes. The shell, the lugs, the throw, the ... wait. Oh. My bad.
Nothing about that drum screams Fibes. None of it looks like Bob's handiwork. Curious where that plate would have screwed into the metal shell???
That shell does look nice, though. Funny ... wouldn't it be a kick if the shell was worth a chunk of dough and this mook had no idea he used a sweet old rare shell for his scam? Now, that would be funny!
$15 economy shipping, lack of Certificate of Authenticity (like that really matters), no brand badge, "unique screw tension rods", and bad spelling indicate fraud and possibly a hijacked ebay account. I remember suddenly selling a '78 Trans Am on my hijacked ebay account. That took me awhile to straighten out...
Dead dogs like rusty fire hydrants!!!
Well, here...let me print one up and sign it for you. BAM! Done.
Want me to include that Bob built it? Wait a sec--let me print out another one...

Gotta comment here... being the Buddy FREAK that I am. Those that know me or have chatted with me are aware of my VAST collection of BR spanning decades... that said:
In a word: NOPE. I have NEVER seen this drum in ANY picture... film... video... DVD... etc. It is NOT a Fibes or Bob Grauso built drum either... however! ... the name plate/badge does "look" authentic, although Buddy rarely if ever had those actually engraved. I do have pics of Buddy's Bob Grauso built snare drums and not one of them has an engraved badge. They're all blank. Still... the badge does look authentic. Regardless... Buddy didn't play this drum... publicly anyway that has ever been seen.
Tommyp
Heck... just last week I "custom made" snares for both Buddy, and Bonham. They both gotta worth a grip, cause, you know, they were custom made for Buddy, and Bonham.
Wrote and asked about being 6 lugs, not holes apparent for the plate mount, and extra holes by the butt plate.
Golly gee, but he has not answered me yet...
