I wouldn't mind seeing this presentation on here!!!

The Buddy Rich display was a highlight of the show.
"HAD to answer this one though, and THANKS for the query!"
I knew he was photographed with Vox drums, just never knew if he actually played them beyond the add PIC. Coffee Break2

orangemi!
Yes indeed he did... but he did NOT like them! By the way, you know I was 'jes funnin' with you on your question! It's actually a valid question because his Trixon/Vox endorsement was so short, many guys never knew that he played them at all! It was only about 6 months from start to finish, and it took place in 1967, which was an incredibly ACTIVE year for BR drum wise. Most of the pics we see today of Buddy's Trixon/Vox drums are from the "Away We Go" summer replacement series that BR and the band did while Jackie Gleason was on vacation .. and .. the 1967 Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, RI. Here's a well known shot from that jazz fest of BR on VOX. Note the SILVER SPARKLE front head. Pretty neat in the day! Enjoy!!!

THANK YOU for the very nice words! You guys are always so positive and forthcoming on the VDF! Too kind!!!
jccabinets: Jeff! It was my pleasure meeting and getting to chat with you for a bit! So glad you enjoyed the display/tribute! .. and .. yes, David did a real nice thing there... twice! Funny thing was, and we didn't even know this: The Bill Ludwig BIII snare drum and SABIAN crash cymbal he gave away from winning the raffle, was given to two BROTHERS! What were the chances of that??!! Their father came over to thank Dave for his generosity, and it was only then that we saw that the two recipients were brothers! Dave had no idea when he did it that they were brothers!
John/Purdie: THANKS John! It's been a solid 48 years that I have been a BR fan, then the research and collecting .. so .. in that time a LOT of information is amassed. It was nice to be able to present it in a display/tribute of this nature. I was approached with talk of a "coffee table book", and well... hmmmmmm.
Dan Boucher: Ah... ALL those stands!!! I had 8 of them that were mine, and David filled in the remaining 7. I had to laugh because somebody said how will you keep who's stands are who's when you disassemble the display? Dave said without hesitating for a second: Are you kidding me? Tommyp's stands are all MINT and polished ... mine are not even close! I had to laugh... but it was true!
Multijd: snaremania has answered your question! Truth be told, snaremania came to the show with a friend who is a Videographer as well as a drummer, and he shot some incredibly HD footage of the display as well as some documentary from me. I'm looking forward to seeing it too!, as long as there is NOT a lot of me in it that is! I'm concerned because they say the camera ADDS 10 pounds!
BEC: THANK YOU!!! Very nice of you to say that! I did hear from many that they really did enjoy this display/tribute! Again, the response and reception and comments truly did exceed my expectations!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
Gary!
Yes we did! It was great to meet and chat with you Gary! I gotta tell you, that was an EXCELLENT tasting beer! Ruby Red I think it was! Liked your Club Dates too for that matter, and... so glad you got that painted head back too! So many nice guys at that show, and you were certainly one of 'em!
