Buddy Miles Rogers Drums

Loading...

Does anyone know what ever became of Buddy Miles custom painted Rogers kit? The one that he used in the Electric Flag, Band of Gypsys, and the Buddy Miles Express.....you know the one I mean, the wild USA flag painted ones.....Did he still own them at the time of his death or were they long out of his possesion by then?

I've got a buddy here that owns a music store. One of his last gigs prior to moving here was with Buddy. I'll ask him if he knows anything.

Cool Michael.....just curious for myself. It would be interesting to know if his estate still owns them...if so, they should be in a museum or the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame or something......very wild looking kit, there would be NO mistaking it thats for sure, much like the "pictures of lily" kit that Moonie used...very distinct.

Ludwig-Dude--A story about this set..I know this for a fact, the Buddy Miles set you are asking about was custom finish by a man of the name of Roy Harte the owner of Drum City in hollywood,ca.The store has close down about 8 years ago when Mr.harte passed away. But the story he told me was in the late 60s Mr.Miles and Roy were friends and he did all the work on Buddy drums,He wanted a custom finish set of drums but Rogers would not do it,so Buddy went to Roy with what he wanted on the set of rogers--they were black-Buddy came up with a 60s peace looking set he wanted...The drums were not painted,it's all stickers put over the black plastic with in three or so weeks Roy finished the set and Buddy love it its the one made like it in the world...i'am not sure what happen to the set...Mikey
