Yeah,

I enjoy the smile and the look on his face as much as his playing.

Plus his taste in drums is impeccable.

I've never seen or heard of this guy before. So thanks!! GREAT player and so diverse. He can cover everything which is not easy. You can tell he really enjoys playing too. Excellent stuff~!

If you haven't seen this, check out this solo from Jazz Crimes. When I first saw this, I had only heard of the guy, but never listened to any of his work. This really got me hooked! This solo is amazing!

Picture this: I've loved Blade ever since I heard him on Kenny Garrett's albums, his own Fellowship albums, even where he plays guitar and sings on Mama Rosa (lovely album) ... he's in my top 3 drummers ever, any style (he can kill any style!), list. So earlier this year up pops a kit sold, cool, right, but then in rolls the payment from none other.

I've sold a number of kits to famous drummers, all outside the US, but this one will not be beat. Not a bragger at all ... but are you kidding me!!!

Here is another one of my faves...although he is playing a modern canopus kit. That's cool, and they sound great, but I would personally rather see him on his old Gretsch or Ludwigs. That 24" vintage A and those vintage 16" A crash hats are stellar though!! And I think that cymbal on his far right is a Spizzichino, as I know he often plays one, but I am not 100% certain.

I'd add this video to the Brian Blade fan chorus - nothing as complex as his jazz stuff, but just a great beat he came up with for this song.

Yep, yep, & yep. Saw him with Fellowship Band here last year. Was an amazing experience to watch him live. Interesting to watch him play notes with the stick but not actually hit anything. Elvin would moan the rests. Brian actually plays them but doesn't touch anything.

I'm going to bump this one more time.

Just listen to this track from the same session as before.

This guys feel is just insane.

Better shots of the kit too. :D

I been sitting around watching this cat.He is so awesome! Yes SirIn this video he appears to be playing a "Cadillac Green" Progressive Jazz Gretsch. Is that right? What a great player on a great kit. Bowinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qwv2f5m0xM

Whoops...in my previous reply to this post I thought he was playing a progressive jazz in black nitron, but after watching this concert for the millionth time (and finally on a screen lager than my iPhone) I can see that it is Cadillac green. What a beauty of a kit!

Not that it really matters, but I wanted to correct that, and also give this thread a bump, because Brian Blade kills!
