I was never a DW fan, sure I appreciated their gear, but always thought if it as overpriced. well, a few days ago I saw this DW Bronze snare on CL, the guy was asking $500, but I started some dialog with the guy. Turns out he is a bass player that just likes drums, and he bought this snare new and it was just sitting, and he needed cash. it was a 6.5 x 14 Bronze snare. I went to look at it, and as soon as i played it for a few minutes, I had to have it. I'll post pics soon, but I have to say I never played a snare as responsive and loud as this gem. Now I know why a BMW drives nicer than a Chevy. By the way, the drums weighs over 20 pounds. cant wait to show the band mates!!

Congrats on a great score! Bronze has a character all its own. For a metal shell drum, it produces a surprisingly warm almost woody note. I love bronze snares. Responsive, great tone and tuning range and man, can they bark when you want them to.
Enjoy your new toy...

That a beauty congrats. DW makes some very fine drums. Last time I was at GC I was looking at a 14x8 performance series COS that sounded awesome. Awesome price tag on it too LOL.
Glenn.
