i went with a freind today to buy a kit and it was stock ludwig bowling ball blue with 2 keystone toms and bd and ft in b+o badges the wrap is tite never been messed with clear interiors very different, but price was right and the 3 ply are great drums a lot of elbow grease ill post pics soon ,for his son first real kit

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp





once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

This era of Ludwig drum construction were the best, & the" bowling ball BOP" was the most beautiful of the Oyster Blues.

Congrats. To me, this era had more balls than the white interior drums. Attached is an album of my old '69 bowling ball blue kit. Sometimes I still miss it.

If we're talking bowling ball, I presume you mean the transition between keystone and blue/olive badges (1969), not the 1959 "transition" badge:

So your new kit has two keystone badges and two blue/olive badges? I'd love to know the serial numbers. I've been collecting them for a time to try and fine up the transition from keystone to blue/olive at about 750,000. Date stamps on them are an added bonus.

yes correct it has 2 keystones and 2 b+o badges like i said needs work but its a great players kit ill look up serial #'s as i said it s my freind i had to let one go im after the club date this person has stashed ...
