B/O Badges How to tell the difference?

Hello all.

I have a Supra LM402, and figure by the serial #'s, (which go slightly beyond posted databases) that it is about 79-80, possibly 81 vintage.

I've seen pics of sharp corner B/O badges, and rounded corner B/Obadges, and in truth I've seen no differences, they've looked the same to me, so perhaps I'm not sure what to look for?

Is it "year dependent", meaning a B/O Badged Snare from the later years will always have one, and not the other? Or?

Would like seeing the differences if somebody could post a couple of good pics of such?

There are at least 5 different variations on the Blue/Olive badge that I have seen. Except for an overlap between the 2nd and 3rd, they each were used independently and during distinct time frames and serial number ranges.

In order, they are:

1. Pointed Corner without (R) trademark symbol

2. Pointed Corner with (R) trademark symbol

3. Rounded Corner (same as #2 but corners are rounded off)

4. Round Corner with Black outline around serial number

5. Reissued modern version (much like #4)

There were also some B/O badges that had the lower part trimmed off to accommodate the center bead on supras and supersensitives.

I have written a Ludwig dating guide that should be published soon that explains the differences and the serial number ranges when each appeared.
