If it's still in round... it's worth it! I would take that to the nearest plater, have them strip the shell and lugs and I'd pay whatever they ask if they can revive the black brass and re-plate the lugs, butt plate and strainer in gold.

It would be worth it. That's a floral pattern 5x14, you can't touch those for under 2/3 grand. A 'refurb' (if done right) and that drum will still have serious value.

Pain in the a$$ to restore, but well worth the effort.

If all else fails, instead of good music, you can make good burgers with it. HH stand for ketchup dispenser and an open Stainless steel floor tom for frying things. Put some chairs around a period correct 26" BD and enjoy your stay at percussion bar and grill.
