Hello There,

i only have a few informations on this snare i buyed recently,

i'd like to know the year and the kind of music it was used for.

It's like there were some sparkles around it.

Hey! I found the rest of the kit few month ago.

Same wrap - a kind of paper-carton wrap sparkle finish- sort of fade old yellow sparkle.

Same "Selmer importation" sticker and plastic badge.

I find mine in the north of France.

Complete with all the hoops and originals drumheads.

Looks like to be a 1964 model.

Great find!

STAR Gold Flame 22-13-16-cc14

Amazing!

probably the missing part.

My story isn't as glamour as yours WALSTIB, i found it on ebay france, 5 hours left and no bid ! auction started at 80 euros.

Beside some rusted parts, the wood is perfectly preserved and i'm waiting for a new skin pack to test this vintage beauty.

The french Lady who sold it was cleaning her attic apparently

Here's her shop page

I've emailed her recently to know a bit more about this snare.

Beverley drums of this vintage were made in the Premier factory. With the exception of the lugs, they are basically identical drums to Olympics of the same era. Walstib; in searching for a bottom hoop for the floor tom, you can use an Olympic----it is probably an oversize shell----16 1/2". Premier hoops from the period would work too but they are cast( could put it on the top).

I once had an almost identical kit. It even had the wrap separation where the wrap had shrunk and torn. I repaired it by cutting the jagged edges of the tear smooth and parallel and then cutting a piece to fit from near the bearing edge, where the bass hoop would hide the removal. It wasn't perfect but you had to be pretty close to see the repair. Eventually , I put all Premier cast hoops on the kit. It improved it somewhat.

Nice snare.

I'm surprise a bit on its strainer unit - a Tacton mid 70's introduced the same... :)

That actually caught me by surprise too. The original Beverley and Olympic throwoffs were not like that. I suspect it is a replacement.
