+1 on Novus...I normally wipe down the drum with mild soap and water to remove any grime...Then I use Novus #2 first and finish off with #1 for the final polish...Works great!!Tip - Have lots of clean, soft, lint free towels on hand...I use the blue shop towels (comes in a roll) that you can get from any hardware store...Cheers
This, assuming you are talking about wrapped drums. Also, I have been using Megiuar's Plastix lately in lieu of Novus 2 (still finish off with Novus 1). Plastix does just as good of a job, is easier to work with, is cheaper and is more readily available (any auto parts store).
To remove all the surface dirt and grime at first, I just use Windex (spray the cloth, not the drums). I use a microfiber towel for applying/scrubbing and a soft, terrycloth like towel for buffing and finishing. Works great!
