Try this, place the badge inside a soft cloth towel. place it on a flat table, use a soft rubber hammer and tap it back into shape, This has worked fairly well for me.

I took my badges and laid them face down on a smooth piece of plywood and used a 1" deep well socket to roll over the badge to flatten it out. Then placed the badges face down on a piece of carpet pad and used the socket to roll a curve into the badge. This came from advice from my good buddy " oddball". Worked very good!

Those B/O badges had a peel and stick backing so they should always be stuck to the wrap (although some do come loose).

The best way to remove one if you ever need to do it again is (after you remove the grommet) to run some fishing leader or dental floss (or similar) between the badge and the drum and "saw" through the adhesive. Heating it up a bit with a hair dryer first helps too (don't use a heat gun because you might burn the ink off the badge or even start the wrap on fire). This will let you get the badge off without bending it.

Are there are any tricks for flattening a badge without removing it from the drum? Mine pretty much resembles the OP's...don't want to file out the grommet if I don't have to.
