Been Gretsched! 80's 18/14/12/10 bd Batter? Last viewed: 20 hours ago

Bought a Rosewood lacquer 1980s Gretsch kit in great sizes that I don't have: 18/14/12/10 - it sounds awesome after some tuning efforts - I didn't realize the gretsch following but I get it now - these drums sing and are very articulate and vintage sounding - head changes ended up finding Evans G2s as the best to my ears without over sustaining, great punch and vintage rumble - Ive been Gretsched! and the 80s hardware actually works! I love them!

Any suggestions for a base drum batter? It came with a Remo Powerstroke P3 Coated ( the one with the black dot affixed on inside of batter) but sense it could do better - maybe a version of the Aquarian Super Kick? the SK1 on my rogers 20 bd is perfect - what would deepen and warm up this 18? Heres a pic:

I prefer the Remo Powerstroke 3 in either coated white or smooth white, on my Gretsch 80's kit.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
