It's beautiful for sure. I wasn't sure if it was a re-wrap, until one our own explained that the wrap is stuck into the wood kerf edge at one point. Here's what he posted. I trust him for sure:
"that's probably a 66 model. all of the wraps at that point were tucked into the scarf joint in the shell. so, if its a rewrap, the wrap would all be on top of the shell. I took a look a the grommet and it looks fine. you might just have an original beautiful example of champagne sparkle there. either way, its a beautiful drum"
A great snare -- '66 Pioneer. I can see, technically, why people prefer 8 or 10 lug drums, bu this one's easy to tune, and sounds like a great vintage wood snare. Really sounds good. It isn't perfect -- there's some pitting on the lugs and marks on the hoops -- but it looks good, eh?
I have offered this for trade, but I'd listen to an offer! Please make it a fair one, okay?
There's a Ludwig Medium head on this now, but I also have a heavy with a few stick marks.
