On the cleaning...are you using 3 and 1 oil on your shells? How about the hardware? I think I've read where you've used that and lemon oil. I've got an old 10-lug floral 5x14 I'm going to start working on soon.

If the clear coat finish on the shell is still shiny but a tad grimy then a little 3-in-one oil or lemon oil will suffice but if the clear coat is dulled I found a great product that will bring back the clear coat luster (most of the time)...it's called Klasse. It works great in that you don't have to re-lacquer the shell.
