Been stuck on medium thins for so long I forgot how great the heavier old 50's Avedis sound! :)

that's a fine statement that you just made. I traditionally play thin cymbals. I have that with the older stuff, there some real ***els in various weights including the heavy side. there seems to be more complexity in the older ones where as some of the new stuff is heavy and only heavy sounding. hope that makes sense.

22 hollow blocks are the cat's meow in my opinion.

Makes total sense Mike, with age the alloys 'stretch' if you will, or loosen up, so even those heavier ones sound pretty damn good and actually make more sense when playing in a big band situation maybe too. Mountain's actually sounds like it has some nice crash-ability in there too :) Never had a hollow block myself though...
