Is it just me or, is there a lot less interest in Vintage drums in comparison to 4 or 5 years ago?
It seems that vintage drum sales have dwindled.

No it's higher than ever before. This economy has played a large part on sales and prices worldwide,
Maybe, to someone who has no interest in vintage drums or has lost the interest he once had in vintage drums, it can seem that there is little interest in them. I would compare this to something that I caught myself doing last night. My wife and I were watching a television series that we like. There was a commercial promoting another series that we had stopped watching a few years ago. I said to my wife: "This is still on the air"? Then, I remembered something I read recently that this series is one of the longest running shows on TV, and usually in the top ten in ratings. It has survived and thrived without us watching it.
Pretty sure the interest is still alive... maybe just subdued a bit due to some folks lack of funds. I've found more interesting stuff over the last year than ever.
I think we all have vested interest, but I believe it's varied there is the collector with deep pockets who has most of what he wants, the flipper who can't find the $350.00 kits no more and the plain broke drummer so I think that's pretty much it ...and of course the retailers ....
I am leaning towards much less interest than 10 years ago. My opinion is values are half of what they should be. Why? I guess you could blame the economy. But really...who cares why? why doesn't make my drums more valuable. i think there is too much parody in pricing. people with pie in the sky listings with no proof of sales. I question the group on proof of real sales for full market value? Anyone?
I have just started with my collecting after many years out of the drum picture. I am having to try and teach myself about vintage drums again after being out since the 70,s. I do love the older sets, but what seems to be the norm, prices, way up, maybe I am old drummer guy, but it didn't seem that way several years ago. I am doing research, and most of the people I have talked with, want to sell their sets way over what their worth. Trying to sell junk for prime prices. Just my thought...
It has all to do with encomy, just like everything else. Who do you blame? Well I know who I blame, but since you're not allowed to talk about politics here and he will soon be gone and forgotten, I won't mention his name.

Oh...You sly dog. You thought that you could slip it in here. But, you can't get away with that in here.
If that post remains, and is not removed by the admistrators, I guess that all bets are off for political crap in here.
I have only been interested in vintage drums for about 3 years, so I wouldn't know.
Where do you look to see whether vintage drum sales have dwindled?
