Any good drum shops in Florida? Last viewed: 17 minutes ago

Loading...

I'm going to Florida next month for a few days. Can any of you Floridians recommend any good shops that carry vintage gear? My wife and I are spending a couple days in the Daytona Beach area and then a couple days in Coral Springs. I only know of DrummersOnly in Port St.Lucie. Let me know if there are any other "must-see" shops. Thanks.

Thanks Jim for the tip. I just heard of Drums2Go in Orlando also. I figure if I'm going to spend hours in malls and dress shops with my wife, she can certainly spend a couple hours in drum shops.

Mike - When my wife is shopping for clothes at a mall I'll establish an HQ at the first chair or bench I can find and I let my wife know where I'll be squatting if she needs my opinion on a dress or something. She gets to shop till her hearts content and I get to stay out of the fray, away from the rabid consumers, safe in my chair...

Too many great drums to list here!

Heck, you should bring you snare and a tip jar next time. Make it worth your while while you're waiting...

I'll be keeping my eye on this thread as I live in Florida and don't know of any vintage drum shops.

A.J. Altieri used to be the drum department manager at Thoroughbred Music in Tampa (purchased by Sam Ash). He opened a drum shop in Tampa after leaving Thoroughbred and had some nice vintage drums. I bought a '69 WMP Slingy kit from him in the mid 90's. I don't know what he's up to now as he opened another drum shop called Pro Percussion but according to their website the shop is "closed for restructuring".
