Very good work- and I might add that often what we drummers perceive as a shuffle is often carried more by the bass player than you realize. Pull the recording apart to hear what's actually being played on the drums. "Less is more"...

Awesome solo Jeff! You can totally do this. I hear you on the 2am deal though...if you put together a jazz combo you can play matinees on the patio and such :)

Hey Mitch, Jerry, Brian, Tom and all others thanks again for the positive feedback. I gave a cd recording of the entire set to this guy who delivers lumber to me and all he could say is I play a mean cowbell, lol. Sure is nice to have drummer buddies that know what its like to sit back and drive the band.

I post a pic of the music sheet my drum teacher wrote for me. Just to show what I/we call the shuffle. What he calls the regular shuffle on top, half time shuffle in the middle then the Santeria is the third one. Im not sure what I played on Road House Blues to be honest, pretty much the regular shuffle with an extra kick beat. Still learning, I appreciate the input on this as well.

"less is more" I totaly get that but I think I am struggling with simple beats and very slow tempo's. Guess I listened to too much Kansas (Phil Ehart) when I was younger, constantly adding little fills and extra kick's.
