Looking at your pictures all I can say is "Wow". What a deal.
Back in the day many people ordered or bought sets without floor toms to save money, either figuring they didn't need one or that they could add one on later so there is a pretty fair chance this set never had a floor tom. Very lucky find, especially at such a killer price. My experience is usually the opposite, of yours. I very rarely run into drums at these sort of sales but on the very rare occasion when I have they have always been stratospherically overpriced..."How much are the drums?" "$3000".
You are doubly lucky to find a matching floor tom so quickly, especially with the proper badge and all. I've searched for up to three years for the right floor tom to come along and I wasn't even restricting myself to a particular badge, just a particular wrap. Many folks have been on the hunt even longer. Floor toms seem to become elusive, especially when you start looking for a particular one, even in a very common wrap. So add that lucky find onto your already stupendous snag. Maybe you should have bought a lottery ticket too.
Nickel hardware has a sort of goldish tone to it while chrome has a bluish cast. Technically chrome plating is called nickel-chrome. The silver reflective part in both cases is a layer of nickel plating but in the case of chrome a layer of chromium is added over top of that. It's almost like a clear coat that prevents the nickel from tarnishing but it does add a bluish cast as well. When new or in perfect polish they look about the same but nickel will tarnish over time while chrome typically retains its shine unless you mistreat it in some way.
