Adding a 16 to a 20-12-14 Last viewed: 1 day ago

Last year I finally found the 14 for my Round Badge set. I just had a generic 16 filling in for the 14 until I found this one. Whenever I see a 16 or 13 tom that matches the wrap on Ebay I get the urge to bid on it. My set sounds great and the only reason I can really think that I would need the other two would be because I feel like I need them. That or I want to play the theme to Miami vice. Is there really a reason to buy the other two, or should I just be thrilled that I put this set together?

Thanks,

Jake

Hi Jake,

Well, I normally play two down... have for years. For my weirder kits, I'll use two sixteens. I know this doesn't answer your question, but my point is this:

If you play two on the floor, go for it. Also, it's always easier find a 16. And, it's always easier to get rid of a drum you've decided you don't use, than to find one.

I'd snag it and worry about what to do with it later.

I have a Slingerland 20,12,13,14f,16f kit. It's nice to have the variety ... and it makes me want to hunt down a matching 22. So, I honestly don't know what to say. Basically, you're darned if you do and you're darned if you don't. I will most likely sell mine for a 22,13,16 Rogers set.

What Would You Do

I totally wanna get a 16 inch Champagne Sparkle RB drum for my 20/12/14 set up. Would be sweet to have some more thunder on the low end.
