I heard somewhere that by putting newspapers in a snare shell it can take some ring out of it, so I thought what better snare to test that with than a clear shell. Let me tell you, it has a nice sharp crack to it now, no ring, going to try on my next gig, makes for a nice conversation piece also, looks cool in person.

Ha that's pretty cool. Those Crush drums sound nice too. You have the whole kit or just the snare?

HI Glenn
just the snare, I have not seen one of these come up on the bay in a long time, I know I have Jon Bonham's Obituary in my basement somewhere, when I find it, I'll put that newspaper in this drum, then surely I'll have a one of one snare LOL!!!

I purchased a `68 Rogers set, and the bass drum was packed with loosely crumpled pages of The Boston Globe from early `68.
The original owner said it was his prefered muffling method back then, and used it for years that way.

How cool, it makes sense, lighter than a pillow or blanket also.
