Acrolite "wrinlke" finish? Last viewed: 22 hours ago

Loading...

Hey everybody I'm still new to this forum - joined yesterday, still finding my way around. I've already gotten some good information regarding a late 80s early 90s Acrolite that I have. However, I still can't get a definitive answer on this rough wrinkle finish. It's a powder coat, or at least it's made in the time period that Ludwig used powder coat but it's a very pale gray and textured inside and out.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Eric

The "texture" you are referring to is normal for that era of acrolites. Its part of the powder coasting process.

Thanks Guru for the help. Say about how long did they make them like this?

Pretty much all during the 80's. From sometime about 1983 up to 1989. After that they went with the black galaxy powdercoat that they still use today.
