That's a great cartoon! Thanks for posting. I can't imagine how Mr. Best must feel even to this day though. There must be days when...

The band was not at its optimal level of creativity or performing ability until they replaced Pete Best with Ringo. Apparently, Ringo needed to prove to George Martin that he was up to the task of being the drummer on Beatles records. Ringo's seemingly simple drumming is far from simple. Many of his drum tracks on Beatles records were unconventional, and defined new directions for the rest of us to explore.

You are so right, sir!!! "far from simple" is an excellent choice of words. Anyone who has taken the time to listen carefully to what Ringo did will realize that he played exactly what was required for the overall sound of the group. He was quite innovative at the same time. I've seen Ringo a couple of times and believe me, he CAN play!

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Hilarious ! !!..LoLoLoLo.. Although i think that most of us already know what the situation was with Pete Best. He always thought he was king sh#7, wasn't a very good drummer, would miss or cancel out on gigs at the last minute, etc.. In essence , he "shot himself in the foot" so to speak, and burned any and all bridges because of his attitude and work ethic. As far as i'm concerned, Pete Best, was never at his "best" as a drummer. Lame:D
