A few questions about a Vistalite kit I bought a while back. Last viewed: 5 days ago

I picked this kit up on craigslist a couple years ago and have been wondering about the actual production year approximation. I don't know much about Vistalites but I know there are quite a few knowledgeable people on here who do. Also, I've been thinking about possibly repairing and selling off some of the pieces that I don't use but I'm not sure if it would be of more value to sell them together as a package or separately. A few of the drums have matching sequential serial numbers. I apologize in advance for not knowing the exact sizes and I'm currently out of the country so I can't measure them right away. The kick is 26" and the rack toms are 14,15, and two 18's. I posted a picture I have of one of the badges so hopefully that will help, most of the serial numbers are in that general range.

Any ideas as to how much I should ask for the smaller concert toms after I've repaired the cracked ones? Or would it be better to just keep the kit together? I have the lugs/rims for everything and it all seems to be in great condition. I bought the whole kit for a pretty low price so I'm also interested in knowing an approximate value for the whole thing in general too if anyone has a good guess. I really love this kit and plan on holding on to it for a long time but the smaller pieces I don't use just seem to be gathering dust so I was hoping to sell off some of them in order to fund more restoration on the larger pieces. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd keep it too, or sell it as a whole and buy a smaller vista kit. Cool kit!

That's a good idea too, thanks. I hate the idea of getting rid of it but I just figured someone else could put the smaller toms to use better than I have. Seems like keeping it together is a better idea though.

To your original question, it appears from that serial # that you have a 1978 kit. Here is a link for your edification:
