If you're ever in Cornwall, Ontario, be sure to stop in at Rene Martin's (our own drums2xs), drum shop, KING STREET PERCUSSION. Rene has the exclusive Tama Drum dealership in eastern Ontario, Stagg Cymbals and Silver Fox Drum Sticks distributorships and possesses the largest Aquarian Drum Heads inventory in Ontario. KSP also specializes in new, used and vintage drums of all makes as well as customizing and restoration. Rene has worked with artists such as Chilliwack, Helix and Michel Pagliano to name a few. Above all, Rene Martin is an honest, hard-working musician who puts individuals first. Excellent prices. Excellent service.

If this sounds like a plug, I guess it is. It is also a sincere endorsement for one of our own members.

Brian

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

Rene is one of the good guys and in the future I will support his noble drum shop effort by throwing whatever business I can his way.

Good looking out Brian! I didn't know about the drum shop and I'm sure that others didn't know about it either. We -should- support each other and especially somebody as nice as Rene.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I have been dealing with Rene for more than a year now and have been very impressed with his professionalism, friendship and ability to get whatever I am looking for - if he doesn't already have it. I use Aquarian heads and it's nice to know that there is a ready supply at his place. The other music shops in town don't carry them and the drum shop in Ottawa that I've dealt with in the past seems to only bring them in on a customer-ordered basis. Of course, it's nice to live 5 minutes from Rene's shop. I can drop by any time, if for nothing other than a chat and to check out what new or used gear he has gotten in. Keep up the good work buddy. What started out as a hobby many years back for the love of drums and meeting my first drum tech at the age of 13 i had no ideal that it would have such an impact on my life growing up.

I use to say it would be cool to have a drum shop one day never thinking that i would do it , in my 30's i became an over the road pro trucker with the years passing me by and thinking this was the path that i would be on till the day i would hang up my key's , then one day with back luck on my side my carrere was over with no positive employment to look forward too cause trucking i thought was all i knew and there was nothing out there for a washed up so called dum A$$ trucker , Once aging i picked my self of the floor and took a small biz course still thinking that i was wasting my time the teachers ask me whats your biz so i told them i going into the drum biz they just look at me and ask how are you going to make money selling drums i repiled i'm not selling drums i'm selling dreams , with less than 500$ left to my name and just about to loose it all for good they told me to get a job your making a big mistake , with nothing left to loose and the promise to my self that i would start a drummers drum shop with honesty and a feel that the shop did not belong to me it belonged to all of us drummer's , within the first year out of my basment i challenged all the big names in my home town , at first they wrote us off as nothing then we starting following then we became the main backliner for drums and tech suport , Aquarian drum head usa gambled on me and now we are the main go to place for Aquarian drum heads , then Tama rep's contacted me to my surprise and told me that they would like to take away the dealership from my main competition and give it to me then stagg then silver fox stick now audix mic' and more on the way . One of our claim to fame was our ability to produce pro drum sound on major live show's and in studio that led me on my drum tech journey , that drum tech that i met when i was 13 was the tech for the canadian classic rock band helix and now i'm the drum tech for helix and a few big name to boot . Win losse or draw i'm lucky to have gotten this far with the help of many drummer that was willing to take a chance on our small shop and turn their back's on the big chain stores to keep that ma and pa shop alive . A big thanks you aging brian for your unexpected plug . VDF ROCK'S
