i found on cl a 8 lug snare. i'm guessing at what it is ,it has the crimped areas at the strainer it was painted black( no it was not a red door )and it is not 1 piece it was braised with a plate over the seam and a lug there it is a old non serial # keystone badge.

does anyone know of this seam thing? if its a proto type for the acolyte or what i ll try and get a pick.red felt baseball bat muffler

from what i see from that pic, that is indeed a ludwig prototype acrolite.my fave snare drum.

thank you for the info so i think ill do a correct restoration do you know how many there are of these and

what they r worth i paid $20 + shipping so this is the orange peal irst edition so its worth about 400+ on a good day

Yes the snare is a prototype acro..Yes it's a rare drum i don't see many of them around..It's a nice sounding snare drum after you restore it..Mikey

thanx guys i did not get the hoops. i ll need to find them are they cos or cob or nob rims ?and the rods too are they nos or cos? are missing too but ill gather all of the parts and slowly put it right if any one has these parts i'd be interested in buying them i need the correct throw and butt plate also .so ill put some bucks in it but ill bet it will sound sweet when im done any advise will well met than you again
