That was my first real kit: '70s Slingerland maple, natural finish. Never get anything but compliments about it. Pretty well indestructible, too, and until my recent dalliance with a Ludwig Classic kit in white cortex was once again my main gigging kit.

That a 22-13-16? Get any hardware or other stuff with it?

Currently playing for loud rock and roll gigs:
1982 Ludwig Classic in white Cortex, 24-13-14-18 + Coliseum snare
For quieter gigs:
Early '70s Whitehall Tiger Eye Pearl 20-12-14-14
Neglected but thinking about:
Early '70s Sonor Champions in Rosewood, 22-12-13-16

Nice finish! Also, why are the grommets so unusual in the toms? They don't appear to be like this in the bass drum. I've seen this before, but not often. Everything appears to be genuine and on the level. There are no red flags at all. It's just these grommets.

Hello all- crisis diverted! I am glad everything worked out in the end but i do sincerely apologize for the state of the box. I have shipped heavier and bigger drums to further away places (to people on this board) and have had no problems. I don't want to blame the carrier so I will take the blame. I always am sure to email the person I am shipping to, pictures of the inside of the package(s) for approval, which I did this time as well. The box was new from the container store, as well as the peanuts and bubble wrap. I am so happy the drums arrived safely though man, it is a great kit for sure. Looking forward to the Rogers kit tonight! In terms of the grommets, that is just how I bought it, no weirdness goin on with changed grommets or anything.

Those will clean up and look great! Did you trade the red onyx for them?

Yup. The Red Onyx was part of the trade. It was a very square deal and one that I hope was cool on both ends. I am very pleased. I'm easy going when it comes to dealing with forum members and feel very strongly that we should bend and lean a bit on deals. We're like-minded buds and this is a fairly safe place to lend a hand ... and get a hand.
