70's Slingerland 3 ply Artist Snares

Hello vintage drum collectors,

Why are Slingerland 3 ply with the Maple Reinforcing Rings Artist Snares from the early/mid 1970's with the clear Maple interiors so scarce or hard to find? Maybe this particular time period being the mid 70's is not as popular to vintage drum collectors as the Artist snares from the 60's? I think I just answered my own question. One is probably bound to show up on Ebay at some point! If anyone knows of another source please drop me some info. Thanks! Drumguy77musicman Coffee Break2

Snare sizes & styles have periods of "fashion" like any other objects. I think by the late 60's/early 70's, metal snares had become popular w/ drummers. Drummers, at that time, were also moving into larger snares. The catalogs of this time showed more sets coming w/ 6 1/2 " snares.

You can borrow it if ya like. I'd rather not ship and sell locally. I actually like it better than the Krupa believe it or not. I just picked up a drop dead gorgeous wmp Hollywood Ace.
