Its been a while since I posted. I promised a photo, so here it is. I bought this kit in ~ 1980 in Erie, PA from my very first drum teacher, Jim Ankrum. Anyone know him? Wonderful drummer. How we wound up in Erie together at the same time and actually found one another is a whole other story!

I was in a classic rock cover band at the time and I wanted a second tom, so I did the unthinkable - I put a Ludwig T-mount on the bass (its still there if you look closely), bought a cheap WMP tom (that didn't match, BTW), and now I was cool.

Roll the tape forward to the 2000s and I'm in possession of a (wounded) vintage set! Its still a work in progress, but I love it and I still play out with it. I can't thank tommyp enough for helping me track down the date; we think its a 73 StarLighter. I also want to thank him for a very fair price for 2 bass drum hoops with WMP inlay in excellent condition.
