i'm the owner of 1979 black vistalite ludwig power factory. does anybody have a vistalite set like this. feel like im the only lone wolf out there............ in process of restoration. what would you recommend other than Novus to polish the shells?????

I used Novus on my clear Vistalites which worked very well. They were not in too bad of shape though.

What a coincidence, I just picked up a 1976 Power Factory set off CL a couple weeks ago in black Vistalite. they are 150xxxx serial numbered. Came with an Acrolite, a bunch of cymbals and hardware. I am in the process of restoring them now, they are not in terrible condition but lots of scratches and scuffs and the bass had a bad crack all the way through. I am using Novus on them and so far I am pleased with the results. I have been using 3 on the deep scratches and then 2 for the light stuff, unfortunately all the buffing has been by hand and very time consuming. I am sure they would come out even better with a buffing wheel, or car buffer… but I don’t have access to one. Here is a pic from the 1980 Ludwig catalog, but they first appeared in the '76 catalog.
