70s Avedis Hi-Hats Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I am putting together a vintage 60s kit and am now picking up cymbals. I am learning about cymbals, as I go. Anyone out there that can offer some schooling about vintage late 60s/early 70s cymbals, inparticular Avedis. Are they automatically thinner than modern 90s/2000s versions - just the way they made them back then? Anything in particular to watch out for besides the usual wear/stains/cracks etc?

Thank you.

I have a set of 14" for sale. Probably 70's, good shape but need cleaned.

Don't know the comparisons you mention but I never worried about stains or wear, unless the guy used sand paper to clean them. Cracks, obviously, are something that should be looked at closely though.
