'70 Ludwig Black Panther w/Double 20" Virgin Kicks

Loading...

Saw this rare and great looking kit today at Nashville Used Music. I was told the kit was owned by one lady who toured with it. Comes with the original road cases.

Missing 2 hoops, but the wrap appeared to be in great shape. For some reason the inside of the shells had an extra layer of lacquer or something. Probably for increasing the volume.

By the way, I asked the salesperson if he had checked beneath the wrap and he said he had already.

They're still for sale. I was wondering what a fair price would be those though.

Could not tell you what they might be worth, I am sure someone will let you know.

Thought I saw somewhere that Buddy Rich liked 2 coats of laquer on the inside of his kit.

That is a "Rock Duo" kit.

That particular one is like Ginger Baker meets Mitch Mitchel.

Cool, but not $3000 cool.

That is a seriously cool rock duo but I also agree that this is too high. I would say if this were detailed and cleaned up(lovingly) I could see $2000.00 as original rock duo sets are hard to come by. I have a 1968 psych red rock duo that looks really nice and if I were to ever sell it, I would probably ask more like $2600 or something like that as I think psych red is more desirable and mine has lots of green.

Maybe the place will see reason and lower the price? At this price I really think they will be sitting on this for quite a while....
