Too funny. It was me guys. I bought the ENTIRE kit (Ludwig hi-hats, Slingergland COB Sound King, Zildjian ride etc) for $750. He was asking $1000 on everything. The purchase of that kit led me to these forums and funny I see this post right away! Yeah I jumped on those asap. :DThey're in decent shape. As noted missing the bottom rims AND missing the original bass drum hoops as well. The bass drum, inside near the spur is slightly cracked and mushy...but probably an easy repair. Also the bearing edge on the rack tom is chipped in one spot. The wrap is good. Just dirty. So now, I am looking for period 12, and 14 rims as well as tension rods. I wouldn't be opposed to repros if I could find them just to get these things operational again! I have a gig coming up in a couple weeks and it would be cool to play these at.... I am not sure if I will keep this kit though. I have 4 kits now and maybe this one might be one too many. lolI also own a 65 champagne sparkle Ludwig set that's mint. I bought off original owner 15 years ago. I added a 16" floor tom to it this year as well. Currently working on restoring a set of amber vistalites that I bought from a guy a month ago for $250!!!! (who did I beat out on that one? lol) Pretty sure I'll keep the vistas. Played on em out a week ago and had a blast. Outfitted with the CS black dot heads and all. lol. Anyhow I figured this thread was a good place for me to say hi :) Looking forward to learning more about the hobby, and meeting fellow enthusiasts.

Congrats on your find. welcome to the forum.

Love the setup, Styro. Must have a supportive spouse, significant other? What other kits do you have? More pics? Just curious and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

@ Larry- Well yeah, the idea was that I could flip some drum gear to make a little extra side cash. Unfortunately I'm falling in love with every piece of gear I am picking up. lol.

Right now I've got an all Ludwig arsenal. 3 classic kits and an 80s rockers set.

Some more pics....

Those champagnes are pretty amazing. Tough for any kit to outclass those :)

I called him and he said he had a guy coming that evening and if he didn't buy them I would have my shot. I told him there is no way whoever comes won't buy them.

He sent me an email the next day saying.."sorry, they sold".

No kidding, who would have guessed. I just wanted that floor tom.
