'66 Hollywood Deal Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Hey folks,

I just got a great deal on a '66 set of Ludwig Hollywoods in pink champagne sparkle from CL and I have a couple of questions. First, what color felt should the mufflers have? The set has the two 12" mounted toms and one has red and the other has white. Second, it came with a Jazz Fest snare in the matching finish but the serial number on it starts with a 5 as opposed to 2. Could this have been from the factory or is that way too far apart? The finish looks the exact same to me. Lastly, should the double tom mount have the black background in the middle with the block style "Ludwig" in the middle or should it be something different? I want to get them as close to original as possible. I'll try to post some pictures soon. Thanks!

Great find, the mufflers not matching that's Normal especially at this time period as are the serial Numbers not matching, the post is it a center mount post? look at this link on the blue note kit is that the mount you have? http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_sets/blue_note/1967_blue_note.jpg

No, that's not the mount I have. I think mine is the later 70's mount. I looked on eBay for the one I think is correct but I didn't see any.

It looks like the mount plate is correct but just the holder is incorrect. I assume the later ones were the same size as the earlier ones?

Like blair just told you wrong era Tom holder and yes they are all the same diameter the 70's are

My 67 Hollywood has the old mount and is period correct. The felts on the baseball bat mufflers are while. Good luck and hope this helps.
