I got a line on a bass, tom and floor in blue sparkle Rogers Tower kit, not sure of condition but told the shells are in good shape. Any idea of a estimated value? Pictures at 8:00!

And a Beverly snare too.

well, those zild cyms are worth a bit as well.!

all together..@$900..

I'ld be happy paying around $500/..

then getting the 16" bottom hoop/rods and the bass drum hoop/T's/claws..

check with Blair / he's a great seller and his prices are usually 30% lower then ebay..

All the best / ...get some new skins / clean & wax the shells with Noxus 2

and play them

Tower style drums seem to be coming out of the woodwork recently. This is the 3rd kit I've seen in the past couple of weeks. The kit was called a Comet and came with 12" tom tom, 20" bass drum and usually a Luxor 6 lug snare. Many times a 16" Holiday floor tom was added. There's a kit currently listed on ebay. The Tower drums used the same shells as the Holiday drums, but less hardware. They are the equivalent to the Ludwig Club Date, but not as popular. I have a Silver Sparkle kit I'm getting ready to restore. Luxor snare, 12" Tower tom & 20" Tower bass and 16" Holiday floor tom all originally purchased as a kit.

I'd closely examine the reso bearing edges, since the hoops are missing. Aside from that, it looks like the rest of kit is there. The single tom arm is there too. They range in price from $80 -$120+. Bass drum rods might be hard to find, but Blair has the other rods. Also check the condition of the collet noses for the tom tom mounts and bass drum legs. If they are cast, then they might have hairline cracks, which will make them not hold tension. They are $20- $40 each for the machined versions. It's not necessary, but the cymbal arm and collet nose is missing. The arm is $80 - $120+. As it sits, you're going to need about $200 -$250 in parts (maybe more) to finish the kit.

Not sure about value, since they are not all Holiday drums. Are there extra holes in the shells, are there cracks in the wrap or the bearing edges nicked up? These all factor into the value and I'm sure the Rogers experts will chime in soon.

Just saw Rims N Skins reply.

Yes, the Zildjian cymbals are worth something too. As long as they don't have any cracks.

How much is the seller asking? I got my kit for $350, but there are some issues. The previous owner painted the tom and bass shell interiors gloss grey. Even over the labels. Plus, some of the hardware is a little pitted. The wrap has evenly faded to a silvery/ginger ale. It's noticeable with the lugs off, but not an issue when a drum is complete.

Rims N Skins posted a good price range. Less would always be better, since you have to purchase parts. So that's good to use for negotiation. But you should also be fair to the seller. Are you planning to keep or flip the drums is also something that factors into how much you're willing to spend.

Those are great drums! I got a set a few weeks ago with the intention of restoring and reselling. Once I finished detailing them, I played them. Oh my, this set sounds fantastic. They all look like 3 ply shells, regardless, I think the center lugs allow the drums to resinate a bit more. Could be my imagination but they sound great.

If you're planning on reselling them I strongly advise that you DO NOT play them first!

Good luck with them.

Very funny!

I'm not sure what to do with them as this will be my third vintage set, I have two 1965 Ludwig kits that i've done a complete clean/restore on (didn't need much for the Luddys). I need a few parts so I may try to flip the shells as is for $500, the 15" hats I'm keeping.

Anybody know or heard of the Beverly snare? Thanks for the reply's!
