60's Gretsch 20" question

Loading...

From what I know if you find a vintage bass drum and it has been wrapped in 2 pieces (like a modern kit, or when you rewrap) lots been rewrapped. I have a Gretsch Round Badge 14x20 that has a worn silver glass glitter wrap in 2 pieces. Did Gretsch do this? Or were their bass drums wrapped in 1 piece?

Thanks!

My 60s Gretsch kit has 2 seams and it's original.

Drum wrap comes in 54" lengths and is not long enough to wrap an 18" drum let alone a 20". Circumference = P1 x diameter. 20" x 3.14=62.8"

Yup. The 1950s and 1960s Gretsch bass drums were mostly 2 piece wraps.
