I just don't think so... Too unusual, 18's are rare enough.
Rare, yes. One-of-a-kind, yes. But it's more in the 'Freak of Nature' category. Where are you going to find another guy willing to shell out almost 4 - large for it?
Maybe there's two guys in the world that want it that bad -and- who can afford it!

I'd make an offer if it was the bass drum that went with the Elvin Jones 16" floor time that I now own. But, to not have history / provenance with it....I'm passing. Nice drum for a tom tom though

... and cracked wrap, unoriginal hardware, wrong hoops, etc. etc. etc. But, he wants "original condition" money for it.
Even a collector has to give it a pass in its current condition..
