3 Point Slingy

What is the metal strip in this pic? The one attaching the snares to the 3 point. Is it metal colored tape strip? The reason I ask is because I have the same drum as in the pic. Even the finish. I would like to fix my drum. I have hoops, tension rods, and the shell with butt and 3 point. The top part of the 3 point lever is not present. Any ideas for scoring a replacement snare? This drum needs the extended snares correct? Anyone have detailed pics of their 3 point mechanism and snares? Thanks.

Thanks Vintagemoore. I just went and got my snare out and saw it. I thought mine had a metal piece on it but I haven't seen it in a while. Out of sight, out of mind. Thanks for the 411.

I have some pics of my strainer at the house. I'll try to download them after work today. Here's a pic of my snare showing the strainer and the metal strip. It has the puresound wires.
