3 Ply w/Re-Rings, Slingerland

Does anyone know when Slingerland went to the 5 ply shells and stopped making the famous 3 ply w/ Reinfocement rings/Glue Rings?

5ply shells became available in the early 70s, either could be ordered, but 3ply was the standard until the late 70s around '78ish. I think the 3ply was totally phased out by the very early 80s.
