so i got these drums for free. i doubt they're worth saving and i hope i can atleast save the parts and wrap.

it looks mij due to the parts but its a 10 lug kick. lugs look "gretsch" like, kick hoops are not original of course and only the ft is drilled for a airvent.

i never seen a mij with a 10 lug kick or snare. no badges of course.

thanks ahead of time.

Somebody tried real hard to knock off a vintage Gretsch kit with that one. It looks MIJ, but it's a quality knock off, it looks like somebody went to a lot of trouble to get as close to Gretsch design as possible. Me likey! Do the edges, lose the metal BD hoops and it''ll turn those drums into a whole new kit.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

If that is a 20" bass drum Poppies is looking for something like that set

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I believe that is a Star made kit. I had a Stewart badged Star made kit very similar to that one last month. The consolette is the giveaway. I think the kick hoops may be original, but just missing the inlays. Personally I would play them or sell them, but not strip them. They are decent drums IMHO.

1964 Ludwig Champagne Super Classic
1970 Ludwig Blue Oyster Super Classic
1977 Rogers Big R Londoner 5 ebony
1972/1978 Rogers Powertone/Big R mix ebony
60's Ludwig Supersensitive
Pearl B4514 COB snare ( the SC snare)
Pearl Firecracker
PJL WMP maple snare
Odds & Sods

Sabians, Paistes, Zildjians, Zyns, UFIPs, MIJs etc

Very cool kit that looks as though it should clean up quite nicely.

I too would not strip, but I was raised on MIJ kits so I guess I'm biased.

Look early Star to me as well. Not a thing wrong with those. Give them a wiped down with a soft towel and hot water. Wrap and hardware should look great with just that.

Nothing special here but I like them.

I'd detail those and enjoy them. Love the wrap and the overall look.
