Perhaps just a hoop would be good for display only sir.

Hot glue the head to the hoop and hang it on wall with picture hanging type brackets.

Just a thought.

My father had a jazz trio when I was a baby and I have the drum head he had made his father used when they played together.

It doesn't until you through in a couple adjectives...

Sounds like that head has a lot of sentimental value. I'd want to display it too if it were mine. Finding a trashed 24" bass drum should not be too difficult. I'd look for an old marching bass.

Really not sure, depends on what is available. This has been a hard size to find unless I want a whole set which I don't need.
