20th anniversary Beatle kit Last viewed: 16 minutes ago

Hi All--new to the forum. I wondering about a kit I bought in 1984 in England. I factory ordered it and I'm sure it s called a 20th anniversary Ringo or Beatles kit or something along those lines. It came complete with "the Beatles" on the kick drum. anyone know anything about it? Rare?

Its a 22 inch--Ringo used a 20 & a 22. Was the 84 kit ever made in a 20 inch?

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I know that in 1984, Ludwig, like most drum companies, was pushing oversized multi tom drum kits. The catalog from that year might have had more drum set configurations listed and shown than any other...with names like: Modular Fast Trac, Phaser Eleven, Quadra Plus Big Beat. I'm thinking that a Beatles tribute kit in 1984 had yet to reach that "collectable" or "desireable" status. The kit was not listed in the catalog. It was Ludwig's 75th Anniversary and the featured kit was a 5 piece natural maple kit with keystone badges and the American Eagle Emblem on the shells and the front BD head. My guess is special order and I'm not sure about the rights to the Beatle's logo. I'm very interested to know the story behind your drum set and I'll wait for the Luddy/Ringo experts to chime in. Pics would be nice...and welcome to the forum.

If there was ever a "picture or it didn't happen" post, it is this one.

Thanks Gents...My kit is at my bands rehearsal space. I'll get some pics next time I am there. I still have The Beatles head it came with, but its not on the kit (hard to do gigs with the Beatles on the front!). I'll try to dig that up too. It was a special order, but I recall the guy at the drum shop in York, England showing me a flyer that it was available.

I realize that the OP here never said it was a Ludwig, so it could be any fly-by-night drum company who came out with this Beatle kit.

Still waiting.... PICS! Violin
