Hey guys!two questions about jazzettes:1. Did the maple thermogloss kits always have maple interiors as well? Did the mahogany thermogloss kits always have mahogany interiors as well? or did the mahogany thermogloss kits generally have maple interiors? Was there a general trend towards having matching exteriors and interiors?2. What was the Jazzette's snare? I see in the catalogues that it was the supra, but did they ever come with a jazzfest? or a downbeat? or a piccolo? cheers!
#1.) When it first came out, the Jazzette had painted white interiors that could have been mahogany, but as of the last half of 1968. thy went to a clear maple interior -regardless of the outer veneer. Ludwig wasn't particular about matching interiors because most all the drumheads were opaque white and the interiors didn't show. I suppose it's possible that a few mahogany interior veneer shells were around -never actually seen any, though.
2.) Jazzette's snare was always listed as an LM400 Supra...and it's VERY rare that Jazzette kits are found with their matching Supras. Roy Haynes used to play a Jazzette and he preferred the Jazz Combo size snare, I believe. But the Jazzette was never listed with anything other than a regular Supra.
