Ginger Baker used the 2 cymbals /cymbols on one stand trick for years. Where are how would one make the extensions for the top cymbal? Are they a store bought item.I have looked on some old Cream photos and can not tell how it is done.My back is so messed up I can't twist anymore to hit the cymbals to the right of my ride,so I am thinking of stacking one on top of the other. Many Thanks Matt

He used a normal cymbal stand. The bottom cymbal rested on top of the middle stand clamp of the stand, with the upper rods going thru the hole. Need pretty thin rods to make this work.

There are lots of cymbal stackers available that attach to the threaded rod on a stand to extend the second cymbal above the bottom cymbal.

I had a crash above my ride for a long time this way.

80's vi Tate Pearl straight stand. The top most section just fit the tide center hole (20" ping ride) and I had a 16" med thin crash above.

The ride was just over my floor tom, really low and flat. The crash was about eye level. Worked great for me!

Exactly. I always assumed he had a washer with felt pad resting on the middle tube section, but maybe not. Who knows? Modern cymbal stacker is the way to go. I sometimes mount a 14"K Dark Crash above my 20" ride. What's really odd is GB mounting a larger crash over a smaller crash...

I did have a felt (no washer) on the lower part of the stand in my case...
