Loading...

I am interested in selling these drums. Not sure if they are considered vintage yet. If you have any comments or have any input on what they might be worth I would appreciate some feedback. They are a 1983 Yamaha Tour Series in a Natural Finish. I am the original owner and they have been stored and transported in cases for the last 29 years. The floor tom has been modified to be a mounted tom.

Bass - 22x14

Tom - 12x8

Tom 13x9

Tom 16x11

Snare - 14x6.5

All original hardware except the BD pedal.

Birch Shells

Protechtor Cases and Tuxedo Bag

What are the sizes and other specifics on this kit (shell material for example).

I a loking for a second smaller kit but I think you have a 22" bass drum there (I'm looking for a 20" bass for my 'new' kit)

More info will help with your sale too!

Tour Custom should be a Birch Mahogany blend.

You are correct they are a birch mahagony blend, but they are not Tour Custom. They were just called Tour Series in 1983.

Learn something new each time here ... I thought the early 80s were 7000 and 6000 and 4000 series for lower lined blended shells. Dang. I do not have that lit piece. Thanks for the Ed.

Here is a link from the vintage drum guide to various yamaha brochure pages.

In 1983 it looks like the only had 3 series (Recording, Tour, Stage). In 1986, it looks like those those lines were expanded quite a bit.
