Saw a 1983 Tama Bell Brass go for $2869 on ebay yesterday-if my memory serves me right, a few years back I saw a couple of these go for over $5800-has the market really softened on these??

The fact that Tama re-issued the snare and is currently carrying it in the catalog is certainly not helping sustain those inflated prices.
It's crazy to even pay the $2,860 when you can get a new one for $2,000 (without out even trying to bargain for a lower price) at any online retailer.
