1981 Tama Imperialstars

Loading...

Hey guys,

I'm interested in selling my set, but I have no idea the value, I was hoping someone could give me some insight before I try to sell them locally. My parents bought them for me about 14 years ago from a local vintage shop.

I'm pretty sure they are 1981 Imperialstars based upon the serial number.

Based upon this Tama catalog, mine is the 8414B.

I'm selling 2 kicks, 4 toms, and 2 floor toms. No snare, no original tom mounts. All of the lugs are original (some minor rust and pitting) and the wrap is in decent shape, there are some bumps and scratches, but nothing too major.

Here is a link to an album of pics: http://imgur.com/a/ZzBWI

Any guidance you could offer would be great so I don't get swindled by a local Craigslister. :-) Thanks, gents!

Would $800 be asking too much?

In my market, that figure would be quite high. I see older Imperialstar kits go for around $200-300 for nice condition concert tom kits, and $300-$400 for double-headed kits, assuming they're in very nice condition. I've seen rarer colours and sizes go higher.
