1973 Ludwig jazz / bop kit 12/14/18, blue sparkle, with anvil cases, incredibly clean

Loading...

hello everyone,

i am selling my prized, super rare Ludwig Jazz Bop kit, with anvil hard cases

8"x12" tom, 14"x14" floor tom, with a rare 'holy grail' 14"x18" bass drum

kit is 100% all factory original, complete kit built together with badges in succession!

badge #'s - 1239222, 1239224, 1239225

kit is pratically IMMACULATE! chrome is excellent, wrap is excellent, original, non touched up bass drum hoops are the cleanest i've seen.

aside from all the great news of its excellent and original condition, most importantly, the drums sound AMAZING.

the 12" can go so high with that round signature ludwig warmth, the 14" can go up and sound excellent, has a warm growl but is still suble and excellent, and the kick is incredibly versatile and will rival 20's and 22's! but a coated head tuned up and rounded out IS that sound. excellent.

this is a very rare kit, ESPECIALLY in this condition.

you will not see a kit like this for sale for the next few years to come, i promise you.

3pc kit + super clean same era Anvil hard cases

$2000 + Shipping

i am located 5 minutes over the GWB in northern NJ and offer free pickup, or will ship anywhere at the buyer's expense.

If you are a jazzer and playing for a living, I would love for you to own this kit. i would love it to live and be played and sing with excellent musicians.

thank you and let me know if you are interested!

Nice kit!

Why interiors are painted white?

14"x18"...was that some custom order?

Man, what a sweet little (high-end) kit that one is! You're being generous offering it here. If I had that one up for sale, it would be on fleabay where a couple of collectors can fight it out for ownership of the kit.

Best of luck with your sale. Bop kits like that one don't pass through here very often. Thanks for all the photos.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Isn 't that a mid 60's double tom mount on there? Not 100% original then.....

Between the tom mount and the white interiors, its factory originality is highly questionable. Nice kit, for sure, but not a representative specimen of kits from the time.

The other drum is xxxxx22 ......then jumps to xxxxx24.....

I am thinking there was a xxxxx23 that was a 9 by 13.......

That would explain the double Tom mount, and jump in serial numbers out of sequence......
